Dean Crouse Selected as 2011 Volunteer of the Year
Dean Couse, now in his third year as a volunteer at Mesa Ranger District, has been selected as the 2011 volunteer of the year.
Dean is a team leader in the Wilderness Steward Program and is frequently found at the Firstwater Trail head providing information, assisting visitors, and helping maintain facilties.
In addition, he is active in the trail maintenance program, and helps train new wilderness stewards. He recently developed and conduced an orienteering course for volunteers.
As a retired professional surveyor, Dean has also assisted in designing and developing kiosks to provide information for guests.
